Job: Hedge Accounting Advisory Manager
Primary Location: Dublin, Ireland (hybrid working)
Schedule: Full-time

Primary Function of Position:

Responsible for advising clients on all matters relating to hedge accounting.

Responsibilities:

This position has responsibility for advisory work related to:

  • Analysis and valuation of financial instruments and derivatives relating to their fair value as well as the quantification of their risk
  • Analysis of hedge accounting strategies, review of the requirements to apply hedge accounting
  • Understand the theoretical and technical nature of hedge accounting strategies (USGAAP and IFRS)
  • Management of accounting policies and procedures in the context of financial instruments for clients
  • Assessment of hedge effectiveness methodologies
  • Creation of hedging documentation

Requirements:

  • Relevant third level degree in finance or related field – Quantitative Finance, Business or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a related field
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with accounting for derivatives and hedge accounting strategies – cash flow hedge, fair value hedge and net investment hedge
  • Experience with OTC Products used to hedge main market risks – interest rate swaps, FX forwards, cross currency swaps, interest/FX options, inflation deals and commodities deals
  • Calculation of XVA Adjustments (CVA/DVA/FVA)
  • Experience with pricing software’s (Bloomberg, Reuters)
  • IFRS knowledge – IFRS 9 and IAS 39 accounting frameworks, IFRS 13
  • USGAAP knowledge – ASC 830, FAS 133 and ASC 815

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Pyton, OLAP or a programming language.
